On-site Nursing Program

Doolittle Home has a fully accredited nursing unit on-site which is staffed by licensed personnel 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. While residents may occasionally be hospitalized, they frequently return to Doolittle for their rehabilitation. While it is often more cost-effective to have Medicare cover a stay in a rehabilitation facility, residents recover more quickly in the nursing unit where they are cared for by staff they know so we make decisions of the heart. The residents enjoy their recovery with familiar staff while enjoying meals with their friends in the dining room and participation in appropriate activities.
Sometimes a resident has a brief illness and will spend a few days in the nursing unit for extra attention from the familiar staff. Nursing Unit care is available to Residency Plan residents for an additional fee as space is available.
